A note from Cam —

We are releasing this cookbook as a way to celebrate the holidays together. In the midst of our busy lives, the holidays serve as a reminder to pause, be present and express gratitude for the simple joys that surround us.

Regardless of what the news says, there is so much love in the world and this team is a great testimony of that. Despite the many hurdles that we've had to overcome this year, we've always managed to stay kind and relentlessly support one another, even when we were most tired. The understanding and compassion that we all exude on a daily basis is one of the many things that makes this team so special. I am grateful for the grace and kindness that this team has shown me this year and for the love you all have spread.

Whether it's the warmth shared through daily laughter or the joy of gathering together for a meal, let us cherish these moments and carry them through with us to next year.

I’d like invite us all to cheers to our hard work this year and to the love that we've spread and want to take this opportunity to share with you a reflection that has guided me this year. Whenever I feel unsure about the future, I turn to look at the past to see how far I've come. And when I look at how far this team has come over the 10 years I've known it, I know that we'll be just fine in whatever our next chapter is.

Thank you, and happy holiday to you all.

FASHION-FORWARD CHIC DIVA-LICIOUS SLOPPY JOES

MEAT | 4 servings | 30m | ♫ Backwoods Barbie - Dolly Parton
From Tate Obdam

This diva-licious Sloppy Joe recipe draws its inspiration from iconic duo, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, in their unforgettable roles in "It Takes Two." Just as these talented sisters evolved into fashion icons, so did this humble Sloppy Joe recipe transform into a chic and flavourful creation.
Much like the evolution of Mary-Kate and Ashley's styles from adorable child stars to trendsetting fashion moguls, this recipe has undergone its own fashion-forward journey. It's a culinary homage to the ever-evolving tastes and sophistication that mirror the Olsen twins' transition into the world of high fashion and timeless elegance.

INGREDIENTS
  1. 2 tbsp olive oil (for a luxurious shimmer)
  2. 1 diva-sized onion, finely diced (stealing the spotlight!)
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced (crushed with haute couture elegance)
  4. 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
  5. 1 yellow bell pepper, finely diced (variety for a stylish mix)
  6. 1 ½ lbs ground chicken (sleek and ready for the show)
  7. ½ cup diva-approved hot sauce (for a spicy runway kick)
  8. ½ cup broth or water
  9. Sloppy Joe seasoning mix (store bought is fine)
  10. 4 hamburger buns, toasted (a chic platform for this haute cuisine)

PREPARATION
  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan. Sauté the diva-sized onion until it's ready for its close-up, along with the garlic and those vibrant bell peppers. We're creating a flavourful ensemble!
  2. Introduce the ground chicken, strutting its way into the spotlight. Let it cook through until it's ready to walk the culinary catwalk!
  3. It's time for the grand entrance! Add the diva-approved hot sauce, followed by the broth (or water) and that packet of Sloppy Joe seasoning mix.
  4. Let this fashion-forward mix simmer until it reaches the perfect texture.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning or add more hot sauce for an extra kick. We're aiming for taste that's as bold and iconic as a designer creation!
  6. Present this haute cuisine Sloppy Joe mix atop the toasted hamburger buns. Every bite should feel like a front-row seat at a fashion show.

SLOPPY JOES CHICS ET AVANT-GARDISTES

VIANDES | 4 portions | 30 min. | ♫ Backwoods Barbie - Dolly Parton
